Valencia CF named as one of Europe's Top 25 most valuable clubs

Valencia CF have been named as one of Europe’s 25 most valuable clubs, according to the ‘European Elite 2020’ report by consultancy KPMG for a study analysing the period between 2016 and 2020 (prior to the COVID-19 pandemic). They are also considered the LaLiga team with the fourth highest value, behind only Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
One of the main novelties of the ranking compared to the 2019 report was the return of Valencia CF to the Top 25, thanks to their qualification for the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey triumph. This placed them ahead of other LaLiga sides such as Sevilla FC, Athletic Club and Villarreal CF.
The report looks at profitability, sporting potential, television rights, popularity and stadium ownership. It shows a general increase in revenue for clubs up until January 1st, 2020, fundamentally thanks to earnings from television rights.
The analysis does not include the consequences of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of which is expected to be lessened by the potential return of LaLiga on June 11th.
